So I’m talking to a lady from my town who says she’s on holiday in Lanzarote however she’s showing up as being 5 miles away (and I’m not in Lanzarote lol). Is this a sign everything is not as it seems?? |

If in doubt, ask her to turn ‘who’s near’ on and see if anything changes! |

It's feasible that she's anywhere in the world, as Fab doesn't always manage to interpret precise location or a user's settings may not be active and thus the default fab presentation is their profile postcode.

Just say that you noticed they are showing as five miles away. Genuine and it won't be an issue and pretty sure they'll be more than happy to 'refresh' their location, disingenuous and they won't and you'll have your answer. |

If her who’s on is off it’s the last location they were on at that point. If it says you’re both on mobile and within 5 miles then the rat is smelling. If it says using your GPS she’s within 5 miles than that’s where she was when she last had it turned on.
I know someone who’s there too. I’ll ask her to go look for her for you lol

I’ve a family member who lives there. The search party starts in the morning lol.
She’s also said something else that doesn’t quite ring true.

This. I was just in Lanzarote last week and a few I chatted too didn't believe me either. So unless she puts her gps on you'll not know. |

If you turn off "who's near"... Or don't allow your browser to know your location.... It will default to your home as stated in your profile.
But also fab can be odd. More than once I have been on my travels and told that my location is given as somewhere I was a few days before. |

I was in London on Monday (I live in Leeds)..
My ex text me a screen shot of my location showing as 200 miles away from him in Leeds. Later on the day he text to say he knew I was home in Leeds as it said I was 3-5 miles by GPS. I was still in London so went online. He sent another screen showing my location as being in Leeds. It took a while to update back to London.
It kept doing this throughout the day when I was both online and offline (only found out due to my stalker ex lol). I always have my location thingy switched on.

Stalkerish! I know as it’s happened to me re the location system, it’s very uncomfortable for the person under suspicion if a man is relying on that location system. Anyway if she is fibbing he will find out at some point. |

I used to have my location switched off. If I changed my postcode, to go into hiding, I showed up in that location, despite still being in Wales. She could well be in Lanzarote, if she has her location switched off  |

OP - Just bloody ask her and be done with it. Next you’ll be driving round with your hand out the window seeing if you can get within a quarter mile. Which is what you will show up if you look at your self. |

And the location thingy does lie too, at the weekend I was at someone's house, we both had our locations switched on, I was near Oxford and she was in Chester or Liverpool! There are such things as glitches. |
