I have just received through the post a box of seven lateral flow kits as my health is classed "vulnerable". I never asked for them and doubt I will ever use them. Which Tory's friend is making millions by getting a government contract to send out these kits ?

Manchester (she/her)

Not a clue. I'm sure there are some people who would appreciate them, though, if you don't want them.

Are these still a thing?

Got a few from back in the day when I was a 'group 2' NHS worker but oddly now I'm a 'group 1' at risk person I haven't had any in the post.

NHS workers can request them (free).

That has got... weird.

It has to be done through your employer and they get to decide if you need them.

Some NHS employers are doing them for everyone, some only for workers who have patient contact.

There's no consistency.

You should have received an email detailing what to do in the event you test positive for COVID.

I chucked mine in the cupboard, very unlikely to see the light of day again.

I request them from the .gov site, not through work.

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please)

But strange they've come without you asking.

I used to be able to get them free from the gov site as I live with a vulnerable person, but now they've reduced the groups who get them for free, I'm not longer eligible.

Bought a box in Boots instead.

I can get them as I'm classed as vulnerable but can't get spring booster for some reason

I mean yeah, I'd like to but if you're not patient facing and you answer the questions honestly then it's a no.

Since they ask for the Trust you work for, they can check.
