Men probably get fed up with not getting a response when they send a nice decent message so end up resorting to sending things which may get a response no matter how bad. I agree it's ridiculous - especially when it's younger guys thinking that's how you engage people in conversation. As frustrating as it is being a guy in his early 20s on here, given some of the things I've heard women have been sent by them... I get it.
