I’ve always known I take up more space than people are ready for. It’s in the way the floorboards groan under my weight and the way conversations quiet down when I step through the door—a gravity I’ve learned to use rather than apologize for. I watched her from across the bar, feeling that familiar, low-thrumming heat of the Black Irish blood in my veins. I didn’t rush; a man my size doesn’t need to hurry. I just let my gaze settle on her, heavy and unblinking, until she felt the shift in the air. I wanted her to feel the sheer scale of me before I even said a word—to understand that once I moved into her orbit, there wouldn't be room for anything else.
