Any body here? ?? I unfortunately sold my road going bikes few years ago, quite handy on an off-roader tho! Anybody fancy some green landing when allowed to?

Near Wells

I go to Salisbury Plain when I can on my Beta X Trainer and it's great fun. Do the occasional enduro practice /free ride day as well.

I'm not brilliant at off roading though.

I have always wanted to do this, but me and mud on bicycles don't mix. On a motorbike things happen quicker.

There are a good few green lanes in Wales and the North of England.

Scotland is almost a no go.

Plenty of places that offer turn up and ride options, I may regret this statement “until you try, you just don’t know”

I would but I don't recover as easy, as I used to when I come off the bike.

Just take it easy, wear knee braces and maybe try Steg Pegz, a few friends use them and rate them. What do you ride?

I'm near Gatwick and have a wr450f as my green lane steed. Only had it a few months and still learning the Surrey and Sussex lanes.

New to the off roading thing, well with engine assist not if pedalling, and enjoying. Be nice to find someone that doesn't mind getting dirty with me

I know they can be fickle, but join your local TRF, I sometimes race just a bit further south of you. Try a pay and play day

Love all types of bikes but off-road is where the challenge lay .. Current bikes KTM 125 Exc ,, Gas Gas 125 trials .. ( I love the tiddlers) . Rode off road since teenage years .. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to ride bikes of any kind .. Also the belly aches from laughter .. a friend going over the handle bars into the soup of a welsh bog .. a mate on a big jump sailing over my head , getting it so very wrong on the downside , and ending up in the bushes .. Later enquiring “ Mate did you see that ?” . Oh yeah I saw all of that bud .

And no doubt I’ve given as much laughter as I’ve received .

Nothing beats that feeling though after a gruelling event or really long ride when you think to yourself ,

“ Yeah I really did something today “
