Anyone replace the cooler with a universal one from a car? New ones aren't made and new. Old stock are "take the piss" expensive

Less than twelve months ago I bought a new replacement oil cooler for my 600 bandit for 80 quid and two weeks ago it cracked spewing oil and leaving me stranded for 4 hours just of the M25 near Brands Hatch .. Ok perhaps I just got unlucky and got a bad one ..

Then I did get lucky and found an original one on eBay with lines which upon arrival is in pretty good nick for 50 quid !

I’ve seen Coolers and lines advertised for 300 quid .( new replacements ) I know it seems a lot , at the time but probably isn’t when all is took into consideration

Original has cracked across the bolts where they all go, so I'm half way through sleeving it with machined down ally pipe..

the right side of the river

I replaced mine, but I got it made for me by a company here in Ireland that make radiators and oil coolers.

I had it maybe a bit bigger.

I just brought my old one and they were able to match the connections.

Was a little over €100.

My mate has done that, used a small intercooler from a car not sure what he took it off but it works fine, I'm also doing it the other way I'm using 2 bike intercoolers on my car project as I've no room for a car one

Chinese aftermarket coolers are good value and work well. But you will have to change your oil line.
