Middle o’ Fife

Nearly shit myself there, I know everything is going up but never thought about the bike ins and it’s due soon.

So I just did a quick meercat check and the blackbird is still under £100 fully comp (has been for a good while) so no change for me

You need to compare prices with other companies as thet just doesn't seem right going up that much

"Same pice hike as ne and with mce to"

If I recall last year or the year before MCE had some financial difficulties and cancelled everyone's insurance and made them renew either with them or another insurance broker. Can't remember exactly but there was hell on about it. Maybe reading up on MCEs history could shine a light on things. I know they are not an insurer and only a broker but just maybe the competitive companies supplying insurance don't work with them anymore, just a thought

I'm with me on my small bike (I'm getting rid of it soon) and it doubled and some, went for 160 to over 500 with MCE, so only going to be getting the minimum insurance till it goes.

Tell me about it. I'd a van crash on ice and it was on my bike renewal schedule within two weeks. Put the bike up by £200. And £1000 on car insurance. Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask

We’ve had to look elsewhere after our current insurer decided to stop doing motorcycle insurance. After a lot of ringing, found one quote about the same as last years…all others were nearly twice as much…

Also, some insurers were putting crazy restrictions on their quotes - the bike (a multistroodle) had to be chained and padlocked whenever we left it (even when just stopping for a brew on a ride out) or not insured within 500m of the house units in the garage…

Watch for these exceptions on your policies people…

I have always had the restriction that bike isn't insured if left outside insured address of 500m and why would you leave it out. It's always had to be in a locked brick built building too, been that way for as many years I can think so it's not a new thing

Not something I've had before...and it means you can't come home, nip in for a brew or whatever without it bering uninsured if it's not put in the garage...the policy I've goner to hasn't got it, expect between 22:00 and 07:00 which is OK...
