Even newer caravans can have a damp issue, it could be why it's for sale, and older ones will almost certainly have.

My van I've had since new, 9 years, and I've had 3 separate issues, fortunately all covered by the warranty.

And don't assume because you're buying from a dealer, that everything's ok, don't take the salesman's word for it.
