Has anyone noticed that nearly all campsites seem to have wondered away from being actual campsites but more like outdoor hotels glamping blah blah blah.
And the one's who advertise as a " back to basics" site charge the most?
One site I was looking at in Dorset just outside Bridport very basic facilities £60 a night
Wtf!
And most sites seem to be frequented by middle class yobs with no respect for other campers letting their spoilt kid's run amoke whilst they sit around a campfire getting pissed very loudly until the early hrs.

"Wild camp and spend what u save on booze.invite others to ur location and do what u want all night with no complaints from anyone.we often go in the peaks and camp out"
You may have misunderstood.
I want to go camping to get away from pissed up people who don't care about their noise.
I respect my environment and nature, somewhere peaceful and relaxing sit quietly and do fuck all. Not having to listen to antisocial behaviour.
I get that you said you go wild camping as not to disturb others.
But we like a few home comforts a toilet and shower for example.
But don't want to pay almost hotel level costs to sleep in a field.
We avoid anything within half hour drive of durdle door, full of middle class yobs with zero respect for the countryside or others. |

I agree.
I much prefer the more traditional campsite, though I do like decent showers and a toilet.
Just got back from Dorset as it goes
Toms field campsite in Langton Matravers.
That was ok,Showers, toilets, wash up area a shopand on the edge of some decent walks and a short stroll to a pub.
I like the idea of wild camping,ie no facilities, but would need to srip wash once a day,so maybe others wouldn't enjoy it as much |
