Was out wild camping in my van on Saturday night and two guys tried to attack my van with me inside.
Fortunately, I managed to hear their voices which alerted me before the object they had with them came through my window. I was able to get in the drivers seat, rip the blinds down, and drive off ever though the windows were covered in condensation.
Never had any issues before whilst wild camping but this was an eye opener. |

Given the price of camper Vans, it's hardly surprising morons try to do this kind of thing.
Surely the cost of a proper campsite is worthwhile for the added security??
There's plenty of sites that offer a wild camping experience. |

I was near to Matlock. It was a very quiet place next to a church that was a good walk from the village there.
It looked perfectly fine, I got there when it was light to check for evidence of broken glass or any other signs there could be problems.
Very peaceful evening but I did get approached by a guy who came over to chat. I'm wondering whether he had something to do with it as he could see inside my van as I was chatting to him. |

Never had any problems before which was why it was so strange. I think I was pretty lucky to have heard their voices as I was reading a book at the time. If I'd had the TV on or been listening to music and not heard them, then I reckon it could've been quite serious. |
