Proper camper here, yes tent all the way.
I don't class caravans or campervan as camping I mean we've sat there watched someone rock up in a huge caravan spend about 4hrs setting it up, made a fort like structure with windbreaks and awnings. Then put TV on shut all the curtains and watch telly.
Could have stayed at home for that!!
We have a large air tent, poly cotton Vango one.
It's awesome, we also have a smaller one for weekend get aways. |

Near Alfreton, Derbyshire |
Been tent camping for a couple of years.
Just upgraded the little 2, 4 and 6 berth tents to a berghaus air tent.
Upgraded bed to an air mattress which is amazing..
Sometimes I might go to a show withba truck tent on the back of the pickup and a 4inch thick foam mattress.. again works well. But no space for fun.
This year, Candy and I are looking for some decent sites for fun around the East Midlands and Yorkshire areas. |

I was a wild camper / survivalist right up to marrying wifey. Now although I’ve convinced her to camp , she struggles unless she has a little comfort. So now we have an old 8 man tunnel tent, an air mattress and an electric hook up |

I just have a tent.
I still love camping in it, and go to gorgeous, remote sites all over Wales and beyond. Something so natural and relaxing about it.
Much as I’m a winter fan, I’m looking forward to getting the tent out again .

We have been camping in our tent for many many years. The last few we have been camping up at our fab friends 'wild and free camping' near Perth. We just finished converting a van last September so we will be camping not in our tent this year, but will still be up near Perth a lot |

"we have a camper van and use a tent rather than a awning. cook in the tent. i sleep in it if shes snoring lol"
My preference.
Set the tent up ajacent to the sliiding door of the van.
Sleep in the comfort of the van and use the tent for cooking, storage etc. With the tent awning making the interface to the van. Keep foul weather wear and boots airing in the tent.
In certain situations the tent can mate with the van tailgate but that makes a very long unit. Depends on the shape of the pitch.
Magnets, the really powerful ones out of old hard drives, are your friends for mating tent and van. |

"Tent camper here xx usually at naturist sites. Love the freedom"
We're not a fan of clothing. We pretty much exclusively camp at naturist site. Plus the social side at naturist sites is so much more friendlier we find. It's how we spend a lot of the summer. |

We’re also naturists but unfortunately due to the lack of sites we do spend a fair amount of time on textile sites, however luckily we do have plenty of friends who join us and we tend to pick the smaller sites so we can get away with far more, obviously we have to be sensible and it has to be adults only. |

To be fair in an adult only setting people tend to be chill with nudity as long as its done respectfully out the way and not in people's faces. Definitely wish there were more designated naturist or clothing optional site because there's always that concern someone takes offence.
We tend to do a lot of wild swimming as nature intended. We've not had issues with passers by yet. But again we do our best to apply common sense and respect. |

I'm a tent camper, I've sent a lot of time camping in tents and I love it.
I have a small 1 person tent for bicycle and motorbike touring, two 2 person tent for weekend breaks and a 4 person one for longer holidays when I have loads of kit.
My routine is pretty sorted although, as good as I am, I always forget something, last time it was my camp bed; thankfully,I did have a backup air bed. |

Tent and wild camper here... I'm allergic to campsites and I didn't like them anyway 😂
Nothing better than winding through the countryside and missing EVERYTHING built.
I've literally had to post kit home before because I had been out 3 weeks already and was finding the transition to go home impossible 😂 |

Just bought an air tent so we can be naked on Dennis Field in Morfa Dyffryn near Barmouth.
Never done it before, camping that is, so really looking forward to giving it a whirl.
Bring on the sunshine.

That the one of the main drawbacks with tents, they are very private or soundproof. "
We've definitely been very conscious of where we've place the light on some campsites |

"Those with air tents, have they been reliable?
I’ve always had my doubts about them after seeing one get a puncture at a site in Wick. "
We've had air tents for years after getting sick of poles snapping. You can repair a puncture on your air bladder so a puncture isn't a problem. We once had a problem with a valve but managed to cobble something to get us through the weekend which can be done for any tent. We just bought a new bladder once home and all is good. We would never have a tent with poles again, air tents are much more reliable and easier to put up and down. They are also better in the wind, don't buckle in the wind like poled tents |

We're tent campers. We have an octagon tent which we love as there's plenty of room and can stand up in it.
We joined a campers tg group but it's 99% motorhomers and campervans, and would be great to be part of a group of tent only camping couples for some nice summer getaways. If there's any such thing let us know, but we're only interested in couples only camping...sorry single men.

Why are you sorry? I'll still camp in my tent and have fun with others, your choices don't effect. Glad that you love camping in a tent as much as I do though ⛺😃 |

I have a steel poled Vango Palena tent. Needs two people to get it set up. Just ordered a smaller Vango Air Beam tent. Should be able to sort it on my own. I do need to get back to Naturist camping. Will be selling the Palena sleeps 4 comfortably. |

"I'm considering an air beam tent for ease of erection. Just wondering what people's experience is. Are they strong enough if weather turns bad. Many years of camping experience but not recently. "
I've only just got my first Airbeam tent. I think properly pitched shouldn't be a problem. Not likely to use it until May so will see then. |

Refer back up a bit to our last post, better in the wind than any pole tent |

I’ve camped from time to time and thoroughly enjoy it. I am a naturist, often visit naked sites (Tything Barn, for instance), swim naked and hike naked wherever possible. I would love to have company, preferably female. |

"Those with air tents, have they been reliable?
I’ve always had my doubts about them after seeing one get a puncture at a site in Wick. "
Just buy a spare airbeam. They pack down to nothing as we found puncture repairs a bit of a faff.
They are bulky when packed up but a big poled tent is considerably heavier than a big air tent.
The tent material will make a difference.
But as most manufacturers do air tents that kind of tells you all you need to know. |

We are tent campers only time it was awkward was when we were at a camp site next to the sex club we were attending but didn’t realise there would be so many families right next to our tent and when we left to go to the club a few people muttered well they are clearly not here for the camping ! Other than that we like the feeling of being in a tent outside |

I really enjoy hiking and have done a few long distance walks in Scotland in recent years. Having to carry all of your equipment for days at a time really makes you focus on what's important. |

Tent camper here, enjoyed camping across the country and by rivers when out paddle boarding.
Got a bell tent last year (with in-tent stove for year round camping) and looking to get out in April. Did a camp in early December which was toasty warm inside. |

Tent campers here, albeit with a little bit of luxury in the form of 4” thick mattresses, comfy camp chairs and double burner for those warm evenings with steak and wine and open air !
(Mind you, you do have to be…errmmmmm…try to be quiet at certain times !!) |

Yes indeed, tent material has zero sound deadening qualities. |

I’m getting to old now for my glamping set up.
If anyone’s interested I hit a whole set up for sale. It’s like buying a turnkey house. I selling it all.
It would be suitable for a couple of people who love camping but prefer some luxury.
PM me if you’d like more details |

We do tent camping. We both ride motorcycles and do moto camping. Also car camping. Love all sorts of camping, especially if it’s a secluded pitch at adults only campsite 🤭
Fingers crossed we will go camping or staying at lodges/ camping pod on 24th-26th April. It would be nice to meet similar couples and ladies 😜 |
