with the way thing are going by the looks of it the safest holiday this year will be camping .if you think of a hotel you would be sleeping in a room where others have slept with what ever virus they might have but in a yent or a van you are sleeping in your own bedding and your own space so alot better for everyone

I'd suspect that one of the first thing the Gov. will do when we get over the peak is to encourage people to holiday in the UK.

Campsites will be pretty full if the weather is good.

North Wales doctors have been asking people not to come as the hospitals are a lot smaller and less of them should people get ill and need them.

Short breaks in motorhomes should be fine in my opinion, you can keep yourself to yourself and stay relatively distanced from people, use the recommended hygiene at services etc

Going for a short trip out in our little Motorhome aka "mobile isolation unit" while the weather is good and try and fend off impending cabin fever.

Looking for a quiet spot and take in a different views rather than our drive, no plans to mingle with the masses, avoiding sites, should easily be manageable for a couple of days maybe make some van porn while were out, got to be better than playing scrabble

Stay safe and sanitize x

According to our local Welsh assembly member, the Welsh assembly are talking today about the possibility of closing holiday parks and camping sites etc to stop an influx of people that might overwhelm the limited resources we have in some of the more rural areas. No idea what they will decide but it will need running past BoJo and his team. The local health boards and local government have all shown their support so it may well happen.

We didn't mean we planned on staying somewhere else long term and burden some stretched NHS trust, just a couple of days, all self sufficient no need for showers or loos, no need to be near other folks (shame) just us two and a van named Sue (not really called Sue) lucky to have the option really

I wasn't having a go, sorry if it came over that way, there's little in life I enjoy more than doing the same as you and apart from maybe needing to buy fuel you can stay very close to being isolated if you so wish.

There are a few sites here and there that are full of tourers that are on a season pitch, there's one very near to me and it's absolutely chocker with people who could well be here for the whole season. I said on another thread somewhere that the village I live in has an electoral roll of 500 people, in the summer the population expands to 10,000 and that's just one small village so the impact over the whole of north Wales is really very big considering we only have 2 smallish hospitals to cover the whole area. The point of me saying that was trying to say that the likes of campervans and touring caravans will actually have very little effect at all if that makes sense

Same is happening in Scotland with wanting people not to go self isolate in campervan sin countryside or small sea side towns. It's not that they will burden the local healthy centres or doctors surgery's but spread the virus to that area and thus then put local people And isolated communities at strain.

Camping and caravan club have emailed to say they will be open, but blocks will be shut. We have a tent, so rely on the blocks. I don’t think I fancy a holiday with no loo or shower.

Unfortunately the ccc have now told people who have tents that they cannot accommodate anymore so you have to have your own sanitation and washing facilities

It will not last forever. Let’s think about when we can pitch a tent again or hook up your van. Plan your next adventure.

I think a total shut down from tomorrow seems to have been leaked so I expect all campsite's are likely to face closure. That's if it's not a total lock down for everyone isn't announced first .way too many people are out and about spreading this shit needlessly.

There was some sort of disturbance at the campsite by us last night, there was some arrests, locals I believe who didn't want the tourists there. Our local Welsh assembly member has mentioned it on social media but other than that I have no information. What I do now is that when we drew the curtains last night the campsite was full, this morning it looks like zero occupancy

The camping and caravan club have now closed all their sites. Not sure if the caravan and motorhome club have done the same
