Hi, would any cammers like to share tips and advice? I've been camming for a few years and I've learned to use multiple ring LEDs to spread the lighting, and I try to have a pleasant background, but feel free to give out your own experiences, I hope we can all learn a bit and make our little shows even better.

Yes those ubiquitous ring lights 😡 you can tell by the telltale “ring light” on the pupil that someone has fallen for that look.

I remember when you could pick up a 10” ring light for about £12 now look at the price which reflects their popularity in the price increase.

I’m not an expert in lighting but I know someone who is and yes LED panels are great but soften them by bouncing from the ceiling (if it’s white) but if your walls are coloured (red/green/) you will get a colour cast.

Use unbleached muslin or thin cotton to put over the lights (safer first) which will soften your light.

Don’t use direct light, it’s too harsh.

Any natural light you can introduce is good but NOT bright sunshine.

I think you will find posing on a bed can be bad for the back and I use a chair and I don’t use the camera on my laptop but an external webcam, a bit more expensive but worth it for the quality.

I’m lucky as I can and do attach my laptop to my router via a LAN cable. You can buy very long ones 10ft and more but don’t buy them from your usual High St shops/websites as far too expensive.

I don’t type but use my microphone to talk to people, easier to do so.

Hope that helps ?
