Always best to say what camera, and my initial thoughts would be that it’s not writing to the card so use another or if you have a PC or Laptop & if you have a card reader access the card via device.
If and only if you DO NOT HAVE IMAGES YOU WANT TO KEEP, re-format the card using the cameras menu, in fact always format the card in the camera.
