Hi
I've noticed a lot of people saying they are having problems with webcams in here, so I did a bit of a deep dive and found this.
This is if you use windows 11
Hope this helps you all!
The Windows 11 update causing widespread WebRTC webcam failures is KB5074105.
Multiple independent reports confirm that this update breaks camera functionality, specifically in browser‑based WebRTC apps, including sites like FabSwingers.
The Problematic Update
KB5074105 (Windows 11 24H2 / 25H2)
Users report:
• Cameras blinking on/off
• WebRTC sites showing “no device found”
• Browser freezes when accessing the camera
• Camera apps reporting hardware failure
• Rolling back the update immediately restores camera function
These issues were confirmed across Microsoft Q&A, Neowin, and troubleshooting reports.
Why does it break FabSwingers cams?
FabSwingers uses WebRTC, which relies on low‑level camera APIs.
KB5074105 disrupts those APIs, so:
• Zoom/Teams may still work
• But browser cams fail
• External USB cams are hit hardest
What to do
Uninstall KB5074105:
1. Settings
2. Windows Update
3. Update history
4. Uninstall updates
5. Remove KB5074105
6. Restart
Your camera should work again immediately.
Kisses
Amy
