Wanting to chat to people you connect to isn't stalking.
To the OP it has been asked a few times, I am not sure Admin have decided whether to implement it or not but if they do I am sure they will let us all know by starting a thread  |

Only if there was an opt out of letting people know people would use it to stalk.
People already messages saying what room you in which I feel if you wanted people to know you could put on a status update. Being in chat doesn't always mean being in a room. |
