I'm in Newcastle for a couple of weeks with work (sadly only in the week) and was thinking of visiting Club Shhh on a Thursday evening. Never been and I know its impossible to say how busy it will be, but hoping its friendly and I can spend a few hours chatting and having a laugh; anything else is a bonus |

I’ve only been to Shhh once, on a Friday night, and I can honestly say it is one of the friendliest clubs I’ve been to. Every member of staff made time to chat to me, because I was a new face in the crowd. There was none of the usual “Single guy? Thanks for your money, it’s through there” that you usually get as a solo guy in clubs….
I’m sure you’ll soon feel at home, no matter how many other club visitors are in. Let me know how you get on once you’ve been? Always good to hear another solo guy’s impression   |

Thanks. Nice to hear that we are treated well and everyone is friendly. I have been to a lot of clubs whilst working away, and there are a lot who just want your money and don't want to speak you once you are through the door.
I'll let you know what I think. I am up there for 2 weeks, sadly its the only club open in the week. So it will be a fairly boring couple of wèeks |

I feel your pain mate! No.3 in Chorley, and Shhh are the only clubs paid me any attention once my money was in the till. The other 6 clubs were, predictable…..
Shhh has a daytime event on a Wednesday too, so you could pop in for an hour or so if you’re able to, and get your face known? |

I'm stopping a five minute walk from the club, its just what time I can get away from work to make the last entry time.
But I agree with you that very few clubs treat single males well.
When Jaydees reopens, I can recommend there. I have never been to such a friendly club. Every time I have been I have made new friends (including the new owners) and I have always been fortunate enough to play as well |

Yes mate, Jaydees is on my list to visit, because I do only hear good things about the place, particularly from a solo guy’s perspective, and I’m sure some of that has come from you in other threads! 
Out of a total of 19 club visits, I’ve only played on 3 occasions. I don’t expect to play when I go, it would be a bonus, but rarely did I make that kind of connection with anyone. Still an alternative night out though |

Thanks, looks like it may be a better evening than my normal working away evening of finding a restraurant, eating alone and maybe a drink in a bar before heading back to the hotel before 9 |

No, for two reasons:
1) I only had trainers with me
2) Finished work early, someone said to go have a pint in The Strawberry, the one pint turned into many as started talking to people and having the Craic, by the time I got out, shoe shops had closed and I was half cut
I will visit again, but with shoes packed and will avoid having a quick pint |
