Ignite or BGHS

We'd like to go to a spa on Easter Sunday, and can't decide which club.

Understandably it's not an exact science, but what's people's feeling on how busy Ignite might be?

We know the Saturday evening will be popular as its a couples and ladies event. Is that likely to effect attendance on the Sunday?

We've previously been caught out attending a club the evening before a very popular event, and found the club dead. We don't want to make the same mistake again.

If it's likely to be quiet perhaps we'd be better heading to BGHS. 🤷

All depends on why you want to go to a spa club. If it's to find someone to play with, you'd get more luck at Ignite, or at least you'd get more choice. BGHS is, first and foremost, a naturist spa, and staff there make you very much aware of that (unless things changed in the last couple of years). Yes, there are "rest rooms" where you can play, but I'd guess not everyone is there to swing, some just like to relax in the nude.

Ignite is predominantly a swingers club, less a naturist club. Most people there would be looking to swing, I'd guess.

But if you just want to chill in the nude, then probably BGHS is better than Ignite.

Ideally, we want to be able to relax and enjoy a spa day with breaks for sex with fun people. Lol

Ignite is nice when it's busy, but feels a bit sterile as a spa venue if it's dead. 😬

Sundays at BGHS are quieter than saturdays but usually fairly busy.

It's still only a naturist spa apart from the rest rooms, the staff will have words if anyone does anything in the spa.

It does make it a brilliant chilled spa day with fun available when you want it.

If it's a chilled spa day with some fun in between you want then BGHS would definitely be my recommendation. Its got a much more relaxed vibe than ignite and just feels more cosy.

It depends on the vibe you’re going for. In our opinion, BGHS has better spa facilities, but Iqnite wins in pretty much every other way. We prefer the heated pool at Iqnite, as well as their bar area. Plus, if you’re into playrooms or a cinema, Iqnite is definitely the better choice.

Sunday being the best day for visiting inqite in our opinion.

Having visited BGHS last sunday having spent the weekend in Brighton,We certainly wouldn't rush back there, 2nd visit & 2nd time we left early, I know some people rave about it,but for us there's just too many rules,& to be spoken to like a 10 year old child after being charged £50 to get in there, left us feeling a little pissed off to say the least ultimately its 80% spa & 20% lifestyle venue where's Ignite is 80% lifestyle venue, with the added bonus of a full size pool,3x hot tubs & a steam room making up the other 20% with better play & social areas as well as parking, so for us,personally,Ignite wins hands down

Now feeling a bit conflicted.

Talked to them twice on the phone trying to book a massage (a factor which swayed our decision to go to BGHS) and the second time the lady wasn't exactly friendly - they aren't taking bookings that far ahead. 🫤

The last time we went to Ignite (Feb social) the pool was cold, and the hot tubs luke warm. Has anyone been recently to advise if they've sorted out the issues? TIA x

I can only comment on BGHS having not visited ignite. I’ve been to BGHS 5 times now mostly of Thursday or Friday nights I have always found the staff to be polite and friendly and the place to be spotless. As people have said they are predominantly a Naturist Spa Venue with an added bonus of some rest rooms. Whenever I’ve been there are always couples about and 90% of the time are up for play or to be watched in the play rooms.

When I lived near Brighton the BGHS was my go-to place to relax. It is primarily a spa retreat and quite upmarket. It has a Greek temple vibe and was so easy to forget you're in Brighton. The library and outdoor balcony was an added bonus, especially when the red arrows went by and a very playful playroom upstairs was the large red room surrounded with mirrors, which did not take long to steam up . During my visits I found the staff and attendees polite and sociable. Since I moved north I still get the urge to travel down to BGHS again. Made some great friends there.

We have been to BGHS a fair few times. Yes there are rules but they are in place for a reason. The bad reviews are normally from people who don't follow the rules and have a problem being told they are not following them. Its a beautiful place with lots of places to chill with the advantage of getting a bit of excercise upstairs lol. We have always found the team there really friendly and cannot wait to go back! We were there Thursday and Saturday last week.

We only have good things to say about BGHS. Staff have always been very friendly. Follow the rules and you’re sure to have a good time. The spa area is lovely and at the weekends the playrooms can be a lot of fun

We went the day after the February social, on Sunday. The pool was around 26-28 °C—not quite as warm as previous visits, which were usually about 30 °C. I think they had the temporary boiler set up recently, so it was still heating up perhaps. The hot tubs were a perfect 40 °C. Overall, a very enjoyable visit! We usually check in day before if the pool temperature is where it should be before making the trip!

Exactly this.

BGHS has a simple rule, don't play or anything similar anywhere other than the rest rooms. I make no comments regarding anyone in this thread but the only times we've seen anyone spoken to is when they can't follow that simple rule, after which you get the bad reviews.

If you want a club with some spa facilities go to ignite. If you want a top class spa with some rest rooms for play go to BGHS.

😎

It's wrong to assume that people are only told off for playing, on our first visit we went purely for the spa facilities with no want nor intention of playing, but to check the place out & chill, having been to the Brighton pier party the previous night, we both had a relaxing massage which was a 10/10 & then a jacuzzi,I got a little light headed with the heat in the hottub & simply needed to sit on the side as I felt woozy before vacating it fully, but before I had the chance to continue,I was confronted by a lady who was really rude in the way she spoke to me, & wouldn't allow me to actually say I was in the process of getting out which tbh ruined the whole vibe & we left shortly afterwards, on our last visit, similar scenario in that it was after a party the previous evening, again no intention of play & left after a couple of hours, never even ventured upstairs, although we did have a pleasant chat with some others in the lifestyle, on leaving & getting dressed I put on some roll on deodorant & perfume, when we went to pay our bill, the receptionist spoke to us in a really rude & condescending way telling us that although the owner wasn't there today, that she didn't like anyone using a spray or perfume at anytime on the premises(we must have missed that bit on our show & walk around) & that if we did it again we'd be banned, to which we apologised but immediately decided that that was enough for us & although the facilities are OK, Id hardly call it up market,I mean its not a Nirvarna spa is it?, its good value for money for what it is,but it really needs to make up it's mind what it actually is, as it seems to us to be 80%spa with 20% lifestyle use, which is stilted with all the rules, & its a shame we had such a negative experience- but tbh its not the fact we got told off twice for something we'd consider quite trivial but the manner in which we were spoken to, politeness costs nothing! Weather you're in the lifestyle or not

Like i said, in my experience of visiting and seeing people get told off, with no judgement of people on this thread.

It really suits some people who are very happy with what it is and it doesn't suit others. It would be a shame if all clubs, spas and lifestyle venues were exactly the same. X

Worthing

There are many who say 'it should make up its mind as to what it is'. That's usually said by those who want it to be naturist-only, and others who assume it to be a swingers-only place. The reality is it's a naturist spa where there is an opportunity to play. It doesn't have to be one thing or the other. No one said it should be, including the owners, so it isn't. Not rocket science.

Hi guys

After being +5 years in Brighton found time to plan weekly visits to BGHS in coming weeks on Fridays. Im single male (straight), and like to know before attending and get surprised:

whats the gender M:F ratio on Fri? (Approx) (90:10ish!😅😂 or 60:40ish or even better 40:60ish)

Will be much activity in rest rooms,

or couples and single ladies wont attend much on Fri?

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

when deciding whether or not you'd like to attend, please remember that BGHS is a naturist place, first and foremost. A lot of the time, sexual activity is discouraged and I remember from my first visit with my partner, we were very clearly told about that on arrival. Yes, there are "rest rooms" available, and sex is, most likely, happening there. But don't expect to be part of anything, even if just as a watcher. Are you confident you'd be happy to just go in and chill, without the need to wear clothes, and not feel short-changed? If the answer is yes, then do go. If the answer is anything but yes, then look for a different venue.
