Friday 1st May Jaydees or VA?

I've never been to VA "bi event" (well, sorry, "inclusive" event) as it clashes with Jaydees one and Jaydees is more my "club of choice" than VA, for loads of reasons. However, if I was in your situation, I would go at finding a solution in a practical way. VA's membership is yearly, are you likely to go back within a year after that one night? If yes, then try, but be aware there are no private lockable rooms there (and hotel rooms don't count as they're not included in the entrance fee). I do hear a lot of good things about this event, but every opinion is personal.
Jaydees, the membership is lifetime, or you can opt for a one-off membership, for just that night only. I have experienced bi nights at Jaydees, they can be a lot of fun, with male on male action happening in the open, usually, if that's your thing. They also have a good selection of rooms available, and plenty of open play areas, too. |

We have been to both.
Jaydees event is hosted by a lady with long term experience of hosting bi nights.
The VA hosts have changed regularly over the last 2 years and the event is now hosted by a ‘straight’ couple running a bi night which I find a little strange tbh |

I've been to both clubs bi events and find Jaydees to be the better one, firstly as previously stated they can maintain a consistent host but also the guests are friendlier and the fun being more open as well as the option to be more private |

James and Tanya are lovely and depite being straight, are very bi friendly and so it shouldnt really matter their own sexual orientation.
What baffles me, and I've mentioned it before both here and to both hosts directly, is why the clubs have their bi nights on the same night when they are geographically so close and so effectively just halving the pool of available punters to each. Makes no sense at all. |

I am going to try va bi night on 1st May to see how the new hosts are, I think I will try jaydees in June to see which is better
I have booked a hotel room on site so I have a lockable room if I want one |

I might be inaccurate. but I believe Jaydees was closed for a while for refurbishment and redecoration, and the VA were doing their night throughout that period on the first Friday.
I do feel it's such a shame as there's many people from the lgbtq community, who would attend both nights if possible.
I know the hosts of both club nights and imho they are all great in their roles.
It is my understanding that the hosts of the VA are straight but as hosts they wouldn't become physically involved with the clientele, as they are there to host, so they shouldn't make a difference.
They are very experienced in the scene and extremely welcoming to all genders and sexualities. |

Hi G - yeah it was, but when Jaydees closed for a year or so. VA did their bi night on the last Friday of the month when L and I first started going, when Kitty and Gizmo hosted. |

Yes VA moved the bi night to the first Friday of the month in 2023 when I was thinking about doing the bi night bi monthly due to starting college. It wasnt because Jaydees had closed at all. Ive always hosted my bi nights on the first Friday (when at VA) or the first Saturday (when at Tease 2) always first Weekend of the month for the past 15 years.
Tattooed talent then took over my event at VA and was kind enough to move it to the last Friday of the month as he knows Ive always done the first. I have recently asked VA if they would consider moving it , not for me but for the attendees and was told this wouldn't happen. They did actually say their bi night was always the first of the month but actually it was my event, They hadnt had one for years before I set it up. I dont have the option of changing it as only have the first Friday of the month at Jaydees. I do however feel it would benefit everyone as the Jaydees event is getting lots of attention now and getting busier and busier and this gives people more options to try VA, but hey ho. Yeah, we'd love to be able
to go to both, as would many other punters - just wish someone, somewhere could see sense (although 7 or so bi night hosts in 3.5 years at VA tells me where the issue probably lies..) |

I think the only problem I see with things like this is, when you havent set any event from scratch its hard to keep the sane vibe throughout and people come in and host an established night but they may not have the same drive or passion as the petson who has endlessly worked hard to build the event. You can lose personal touches, ambience when people keep changing.
From what I hear the new hosts of the VA bi night are great and will look after you and personally I dont think it should matter too much what sexuality they are as long as theyre good with people. |

I normally come to Jaydees bi nights with my partner who is straight. That has never been an issue. |

I have many bi and gay friends, so why can't I go to bi nights and enjoy their company

To anyone reading, the beauty is we have 2 events that are not the sane which gives a great choice for people's preferences and nights out. Variety is the spice of life. I do urge you to try out both events, they are both good events |

Which is great, the forum posting is where to go VA or Jaydees bi night.
I stated my reason of choice would be VA, as 'a trusted single bi friendly man' who can not attend Jaydees bi night.
So in answer to the posters question, my answer, not everyone else's is not through choice of event but by rules of event so that is why I said VA.

Yes we are straight, but as hosts we take the role seriously and focus on everyone having a great night regardless of sexual orientation, and as hosts we can't get involved with our guests so it doesn't change the vibe of the event at all. It's all about making our guests feel welcome, included and free to be exactly who they want to be without question or judgement.
I have taken on board the comments about changing the date and will certainly discuss this with the owners to see if we can find another Friday that doesn't clash with another regular event. Statement from the VA re moving bi-night
Despite conversations between parties there is an impasse that cannot be easily rectified.
Spicyminx has told Jules that the only Friday that is available to her from Jaydee owners is the first Friday of the month.
As far as VA is concerned just swapping it, although easy in theory, practically is not easy.
We have hotel, entry and minibus bookings that are paid for as far off as November 26, to change dates would involve everyone of those bookings having to be contacted, refunded all monies, rebooking each one (if they wanted to rebook a different week) and cost a fortune in charges both by card services, HRMC and the black marks card service providers would put against the club. There would also be a massive time element for someone to process all this and then find a regular Friday that there were no prior bookings for to move that night to for the next 6 months, not to mention how pissed off people would rightly be after coming to the first Friday for over a decade, then to have it taken away.
Spicyminx does not have these future booking issues, but is stuck as Jaydees are unable to offer an alternative date, we are unable to swap due to commitments until at least next January at the earliest.
So please understand that this is not inter club politics, both Chris and Jules and Matt and Natt have great working relationships as clubs, but sometimes all our hands are tied. |

I love the fact that Jaydees bi night has all single guys have to be bi. There is no confusion when chatting to a single guy if they are bi or not.
I have been to other bi nights and the single guys are there purely for the women.
Don't get me wrong thats fine for some people.
I go for the guy on guy with women watching

Think you've kinda miss the point of a trusted bi friendly man, not everyone goes to a swingers club to play.
Straight wanking dead type is a massive off put, especially if theyre only hunting the ladies and shouldn't be allowed at any club or event,other than greedy girls and especially not on a bi night, but trusted straight guys, who mix with the bi/gay community is a totally different thing altogether, there is never any confusion with me, I often get chatting with both bi and gay men and women.
But it's down to the hosts what they want. |
