Does anyone know if Lux is opening today?
We used to check their website but a few times last year it said it was closed but saw people on here posting it was open. Does anyone know a reliable way of checking before we take a trip down there? |

I wish there was a reliable way of checking it, I used to check Steed99 status update (he works at VA, and often posts about events on his status update). I gave up on them last summer and just rejoined my local nudist club, with my partner (yes, no play, but the sun bathing is still great)- you pay one lump sum for the whole year and you can attend as often as you'd like. Not having to rely on staff availability etc. |

it's near Rushden, just off A6. However, they don't have availability for single men membership. If you're interested in naturism, try clubs that offer day visits? I believe there is at least one of those in St Albans. |

It’s a bit of a nightmare. Last year we had some of the hottest weather and they would have made a fortune, but rarely opened due to lack of staff.
Am hoping that this year is better as think they will be busy, but today doesn’t bode well…… |

Since the old and an closed there is no outdoor space like it and Lux Lounge could be a very nice alt - it it opened - fairly sure it would recoup staff costs if it was 1 day during week and one day at weekend

Yep - looks like it’s closed today as website says so and it’s after 12 and the phone rings straight to voicemail.
Although then not having staff isn’t ideal it would be great if they could post on their website in advance if they know there’s no possibility of opening so people aren’t left hanging around to find out |

Sadly, that seems to be too much of a forward thinking, going by the last couple of years. It has also been suggested before to the club to post earlier whether or not the Lux Lounge is going to be open, don't wait until the official opening hours as people would need to prepare and travel, to get there as soon as the club opens, to get as much out of it as possible. Has not happened since. |
