I realise I'm at the top end age wise but can i suggest changes to fab. I regularly get people viewing my profile and when I try to message them i can't because I'm the wrong gender or outside their age range this is particularly galling when I'm a site supporter and they are not.
The changes I suggest are firstly to only allow any profile to view within its own filters and secondly that non site supporters cannot set filters.
It would make the site more enjoyable and encourage people to become supporters.
At the moment i see no advantage in me renewing being a supporter |

OP ... you might just be the exception to their rule. Sone people block single guys simply to stop the barrage of messages, and they go looking for them themselves. In your scenario they'd not have that option.

People have preferences and the site supporter option gives you limited extra features. Overall, the site remains free to use and having preferences limiting who can contact you is a fairly essential, standard requirement for this type of service, to prevent people getting deluged with pointless contact. Inbox overload is a deterrent to many!
Viewing anyone is a natural need, to evaluate others. It's always been open and is fairly helpful IMO. |

If they only saw profiles that fit their filters they would know there was a possibly of them being interested so would save them time too |

To be fair you would shoot yourself in the foot with the suggestions you make.
Some people set filters so it limits the mass of messages, But they may still search themselves. And when they find a profile they like and are interested in they may message.
But your suggestion cuts the ability to do that. So may result in you actually missing out on people that want to meet you.
Also, if a profile does view you, and you have a look at their profile. It states below the profile text the filters they have in place.
Age range is there. It would also say *Not looking for single males*, (if they have that filter selected) Then it would say the looking for.
What I mean is. If you read the profile fully. It would state you whether you could message or not before you try to message. |

You can look at a profile unless they have it hidden, filters only stop you messaging, so you can be nosey |

You need to view a profile to decide whether the subject appeals don't you? Have you contacted everyone whose profile you've ever clicked on just to explain why you didn't want to go any further? Thought not.... |

Hang on....if they view your profile and didn't message you then surely they aren't interested, so why are you messaging them?

But you can. You’re able to view any profile on here unless it’s hidden or they’ve blocked you for any reason.
You can also view in stealth if you don’t want them to know

Agree. Sometimes I’ll just flick on a profile out of curiosity, realise I’m not interested at all and move on. Just because I “viewed” a profile doesn’t mean I’m remotely interested! |
