Should FAB charge more and everybody?

This may have been a topic before but I’d be interested to know.
How many people would be in favour of FAB doing away with free profiles and charging a fee of say £15 - £20 a month. Surely this would eliminate the vast majority of fakes and timewasters that seem to make up most of this site and make it a much better place for genuine people and swingers to meet other like minded folk |

This is my personal opinion.
Fab's USP is that it's free to join.
Time wasters and fakes (however you define them) have money.
People's budgets are stretched at the moment and things will get even more difficult. A lot won't be able to afford it
There are filters that allow you to prevent non site supporters from messaging you. Use them.
Only interact with people showing that they've paid for gold membership.

I know I wouldn't pay that amount monthly to be on here.And I wouldn't have paid when I first joined here either,once I realised I liked the site I had no issue paying what they already charge.But such a jump on cost would just cause a lot of genuine people to leave and I know I would be one of them to go.
And in all my years on here I have never had an issue with fake profiles or timewasters as they are pretty easy to spot anyhow so once I do I stop all interaction with them.
I don't understand why people want to change things up so much just because they ignore red flags and get taken in by the fakes and timewasters all the time. Maybe if they looked at how they use the site and fall for these accounts regularly they might find a solution to the issue they have . Mind you I've found that those words get thrown about a lot also especially when someone tells another that they don't want to chat or meet them. .Bo. |

I'm sorry but I take exception with only interact with gold members.
I'm a silver member, I meet, I attend clubs and have been to socials.
The only advantage I can see to being gold is more pictures and being able to Dock more cam's, personally I think people can see more than enough of me with the amount of pictures I have.

Sadly, it wont. I was on a site that charged £45 per month, abd there were more time wasters/escorts/cam girls on there than Fab has members! Sorry, but the solution to timewasters doesn't involve money. Diligence is key, to avoiding them, but that's not foolproof.

It would also eliminate many others.
Those that want to use the chat rooms, like to upload pictures, those that can't meet often but are very genuine.
There's no chance we'd be here now if there was an expectation monthly fee as we've not been available to meet since October, though we intend to when we've the chance.
Then of course, there will be those fantasists willing to pay, because they know many here are real people, uploading real pictures and videos of themselves, that's far more exciting to some than staged porn.
Plus, have you seen how popular the OF site is?
£15 - £20 here gets a fantasist more than singular OF pages.
In general, though I understand your frustration, I believe this is not the answer, far from it. |

My suggestions were for the op. They thinks that people who pay more are less likely to be time wasters or fakes . Gold members pay more, therefore they could make the site work how they wanted to  . I'm an advocate for free membership |

You wanted to charge double to single folk to purge the timewasters. I put forward alternative ideas. In fact I'll just copy and paste the idea again

Instead of vilifying singles or couples or who ever, let's just all agree the site has issues with fakes, wanna bes and cat fishers.
Let's also agree that fab is out of date with both its registration process and its verification system. It was also created in a time when smartphones as they are now where not a thing.
As such because it is a free site and easy to register to its open to abuse.
There are two fixes Fab could implement that are fair to all and will reduce absue.
1) Remove the free joining part. All new registrations have to pay a one off gold / silver membership fee. £5 to register, double the time of gold or silver membership and that's it. After that it is free. That's the only change. That would stop a large amount of wasters, bots and wanna be chancers. It would also generate some revenue back into the site. People are not likely to keep paying £5 over and over to create fake accounts.
2) Keep it free but add phone number verification to the site and do not allow any messages to be sent or received until photo verification is received. Or even better, a video verification. Photos can be faked with ease now. Videos are a lot harder. Everyone has smart phones now so not hard to do and it takes 10 seconds to video your saying your fab user name.
That's it. That's my solutions to making the site a bit better for everyone.if people are serious about it all they'll do what's needed or they won't and they won't be allowed to.mesaage people. They can still use the site in a view only capacity of course but one little video and phone number changes everything.

A few extra steps can change the site for the better. It does not need to start charging monthly membership fees or even fees in general BUT it does need to update somewhat if only to offer additional security and protection to end users.

Personally, I don't see these suggestions as an answer either
1) I think many genuine people can be put off joining because of a signing on fee, paying for something they don't know if or how it works can put people off.
It may also not put off the fantasists, like I've said before, a lot are here because they can at least try to converse with the real people behind the pictures, look at how popular OF's is.
2) many people prefer not to give out their phone number, and a site like this can fear some.
Admittedly the ones that are cheating perhaps, but others too.
Besides, it's easy to get a throw away sim to verify then snap.
Photo verification, same again, many would like to feel they are as discrete as they can be, this can have genuine people doubting and the fantasists thinking a photo verification makes them look genuine.
A photo verification only really suggests a profile does indeed (possibly) include a Woman.
I really don't know that the answer is, though I don't feel this is it.

How exactly have you figured out that putting a fee would stop any fake and time wasters people pay to even get around. Anyone can be genuine  |
