People can or do put up profile pictures l don't think profile pictures should be complusory but each to their own . |

Yes if you want to see others with photos. No and you can only see others with no pics. |

O.P. My actual thoughts are these.... stop getting annoyed at what people do that you don't want them to do and focus on the folk that do what you want them to do e.g. meet your expectations picture wise.
It's up to YOU to put the effort in for yourself not everyone else.
Besides a pic of what ? Some bloke 10 years ago who turns up 5 stone heavier and sans his hair .....
A pic is titillation it's not proof of anything and it's certainly not a guarantee. |

Not a bad idea, although I have read some take them down to stem the incoming messages

It's up to them if course, but we don't tend to reply to blank profiles.
If they can't put any effort in to a profile then they are probably not worth the effort of meeting.
Also people treating this as something they should be hiding doesn't help with the stigma.

No, because it's a good way of stopping the harassment and barrage of "hi xx" "what you up 2" "can I throw my hat in the ring" type messages we used to see 50 times a day. You can ignore these profiles, or when searching use filters so you don't see people that want to be incognito for whatever reason. Simple really. |

Nope. It is up to each profile whether they wish to display a pic or not.
Some people are not able due to work reasons or whatever.
I would however be in favour of every profile needing a green flag and be photo-verified. |

"I just ask them to send me one. A lot of people do not like to show there face on a profile, I understand why. I think if it was compulsory then a lot of people would be put off. "
I wasn’t suggesting a face pic, that’s quite understandable why some wouldn’t want to, just a genuine profile picture perhaps |

It's possible to filter out those without a public photo from messaging you, and it's a search filter as well. So no, shouldn't be compulsory, perhaps instead learn to use the tools that are available to give you the experience you're after? |
