I was just messaging my fwb then all of a sudden had a big message telling me I was sending links and I can’t message anymore !???

Now it’s telling me to try again in a couple of hours, which would be fine but I have done nothing wrong ??

It will be due to a banned word used in the message. It's not always down to links.

That ban wording needs to change, so many people post this exact thing because it’s not clear why they are banned.

Completely get they aren’t going to reveal the exact banned word but say it’s a banned word so this doesn’t keep getting asked.

It says this on the pop up

To protect our users from SPAM or UNWELCOME CONTENT, because your message contained a WEB SITE or UNWELCOME CONTENT it has been blocked.

Sadly people only read the bit about a web site and ask about why they were blocked as they didn't send a link.

Well the wording could definitely be improved upon but it’s pretty clear.

Literally just got this. Didn't realise it was a thing. I know the word I used in message but was between 2 consenting adults wanting this roleplay. Bit harsh!

Some things even between consenting adults are not allowed to be discussed

Because it might be illegal, regardless of whether you're both consenting

It's not monitored per se, it's automatically done. Banned words are picked up and the message ban auto-generated

This!

Nobody is snooping on PM's. And the site has rules on message content just as it does photo/video content, forum content and chat room behaviour.

Nothing is stopping anyone exchanging off site contact details and taking chats off site where you can do as you please. But whilst on site the rules are the rules, and when broken there'll be a consequence. 🤷‍♂️

Telling everyone what the words are would kind of defeat the object of having banned words as people would just work round them.

Yes, but by working around them, they wouldn't use them. Surely, that's the objective?

And anyway, how is consistency ensured during moderation if there's no list? One person might find a word acceptable while another may not.

The site decides if its acceptable, doesn't matter if one person does or one doesn't

"Telling everyone what the words are would kind of defeat the object of having banned words as people would just work round them. "

So just let people inadvertently use a prohibited word and then ban them.

Why not state what isn't acceptable? People say things like xyz** where its quite clear what they mean; but the **makes it acceptable.

Just seems a bit silly. If people end up having to express something in a different way; why not just do that from the get-go?

Because the site doesnt want them talking about certain things, if they must talk about stuff like that then take it elsewhere, telling people banned words or phrases means they just use alternative words and it defeats the purpose

The message ban only lasts a couple of hours, it's no great hardship really

Mainly illegal things, and abusive things. Also can't mention other websites especially fetish type sites.

Thanks for your reply but it raises the following inconsistencies:

1) Nicecouple561 - a moderator - says (above) that there isn't a list. That seems to conflict with your answer to me. Why? Is there a list or not?

2) Users have been given the impression that a ban is imposed automatically, not with the involvement of a human. But that does not clarify how the length of a ban is decided or how the decision is made to lift a ban.

If the decision to lift a ban is made by a human, what measures exist to ensure consistency?

There isnt a list that we know about but there are such words or phrases that trigger an automatic warning and ban

Its automatically triggered when a banned word is typed and the warning it flashes up tells you it will lift automatically after a couple of hours

There is no list for us users to look at. Nicecouple is not wrong.

The block is automated, the lifting of the block is automated.

I am not sure why it is so difficult for you to understand

OK, to the OP , answers have been given of how the block works, normally it will automatically lift after a couple of hours.
