I've read the link you shared but it still doesn’t excuse anything — I’m a long-standing, active, verified user. My account isn’t and hasn't been dormant, yet messages still disappear. That brings me back to my original point: if I’m a paying supporter, why am I suffering from issues caused by non-paying users? Filters can help women manage inboxes, but they don’t fix the fact that men are buried under one another and go unseen. I’d be interested to see the real ratios — even with filters like “no newbies,” “supporters only,” and “verifications only,” it probably drops from 10,000:1 to 1,000:1 — which is still wildly unbalanced and I’m referring to the ratio of single men to all other users on the site.

"Fed up of all the fakes and time wasters now on the site. Why can’t we have a name and shame area so others can be warned about fake profiles" What is your definition of a “Timewaster”?
"I’ve been a regular user for nearly 10 years, and lately the site just doesn’t work like it used to. I visit someone’s profile and it says, “You messaged this person 4 weeks ago,” yet nothing shows in my sent items. Or it says, “You received a message 7 months ago,” but it’s nowhere to be found in my inbox. My inbox history only goes back about 3 years — with huge gaps — despite being consistently active the whole time. I’ve contacted FabSupport, but nothing has come of it. What makes this more frustrating is the sheer imbalance on the site. Every time a new female user appears, she’s bombarded with 1,500+ messages in days. It’s no wonder things are breaking when the male-to-female ratio is so wildly out of control. And let’s be honest — it says a lot about a site’s mindset when they clearly make good money, yet still rely solely on unpaid volunteers to keep things running. That’s not sustainable, it’s just greedy. There's been little sign of proper reinvestment into the platform, and no meaningful improvements in years. The site used to be great. Now it just feels neglected. " As an 'unpaid volunteer who's been here 17 years Ive not noticed the same changes you seem to have. Messages have always disappeared after a while unless you save them. As for the ratios? Maybe if some men didn't assume that by joining there'd be endless free sex and a queue of people rushing to meet them, the the ratios would be different and also the mindset of some would change, resulting in less angst and frustration. As for the comment re 1500 messages for a new single woman profile? That says more about the men than anything else. The level of thirst and the urgency to contact anyone new in the hope of being noticed before someone else is what puts some people off remaining on the site. Maybe the issues you see arent anything to do with the site itself, but instead are problems created by some of its users? The site is, and has always been, free to use if you don't want to be a site supporter. There's plenty of tools available to use if you want to restrict contact and engagement with verified folk, other site supporters, thise with photos and all manner of filters. If people notice changes in how the site works for them, I often wonder if it's simply them and their expectations that have changed, especially over a long period of time. We all get older. We all become potentially less desirable. We all need to manage our own interactions and expectations rather than simply blame others or the site. Because sometimes the causes of the changes lie closer to home. 🤷♂️

Because sometimes the causes of the changes lie closer to home. 🤷♂️" You’ve completely missed the point! The issue isn’t about old messages vanishing after years, it’s messages from just a few weeks or months ago that are disappearing. That’s not normal. That’s a fault that is happening to multiple users. You talk about user behaviour like you have a masters in anthropology, and as if that excuses the sites poor functionality. Yes, some users create problems, but it’s the site that’s responsible for maintaining the platform and fixing bugs. When those bugs go ignored, and support from people such as yourself simply copies FAQ links that don’t apply, it becomes clear the issues aren’t just caused by users - they’re being perpetuated by poor admin and a lack of proper investment. As for olunteering for 17 years, that’s your choice, but don’t expect applause for working unpaid on a site that makes plenty of money from users and gives you nothing in return for doing it's admin. Would you do your day job for free as well? As for the “maybe it’s your expectations” line - that’s exactly the kind of patronising nonsense that gets people’s backs up. I’ve supported this site financially. I’m not whining about a dry spell, I’m pointing out legitimate faults that didn’t used to happen but your making assumptions about my character and that's messed up for someone that is a part of this website! If your only input is to blame users, defend a broken system, and lecture paying members about how they feel, then you’re not helping. You’re part of the reason people are frustrated. Shame on you.

I don't know you from Adam of course, but what's to stop anyone just typing words on a screen because they've been turned down, rejected or ignored by someone? There is, and always has been, the ability to report profiles that no show after plans have been made. Admin look at all reports and will act where appropriate. But just one person's word against another is not the solution. It would undoubtedly be abused. And people are more than entitled to change their minds about meeting someone at any point. We're all adults. We're all more than capable of deciding if a profile looks iffy to us and making the decision to move on to someone else. Nobody is obligated to engage with anyone else, reply to messages or make plans to meet. If people are constantly getting let down and stood up there'll be a reason. And that's more than likely to be down to rushing into things, not using common sense and not doing all they can to ensure the people they're conversing with are who they say they are. The site facilitates contact between people. It's not responsible for managing everything from start to finish. It gives some very good advice here, starting with this. "Don't forget that the only person responsible for your safety is you, so don't put yourself in a dangerous situation or a situation where a stranger can let you down." https://m.fabswingers.com/content/safer-meets.html

There's usually around 30k people online when I look. Are we saying that at no point are there more than three women online with that 10,000:1 ratio? I'm assuming we can make up the remaining numbers with couples and TV's rather than worry about that half a woman that may be floating. I think it may be a little out. I'm not sure what the problem is OP. Was there a promise somewhere of how long messages will remain stored if you don't save them? I'm a woman. I delete hundreds of pointless messages every week. Why would the site need to store them for any longer than they take to read and dismiss? If you messaged them something worthwhile, you'd remember what it was surely. If it wasn't worth remembering, why should the site providers pay for additional web storage for it? You're informed that you messaged them and how long ago, that's more than most places provide, and the site is free to use 💜

"Please note that not every new single female on here gets 1500+ messages. Cos I dont!. Also I try and reply to all my messages." Well said SexyBJBabe, I have a female friend on here and she doesn’t get loads of messages either. As long as the right filters are set and a clear profile, then in theory the wasters generally pass by, it also doesn’t help when some users attract the attention, but then that is what they want I guess.
"Fed up of all the fakes and time wasters now on the site. Why can’t we have a name and shame area so others can be warned about fake profiles A good idea but might cost money for that little bit of extra server space haha therefore it can't be done ![]() Naming and shaming shouldn't be allowed at all. It would be too open to abuse. I have been called a times waster for not wanting to meet someone 200 miles away. For refusing to "meet now" I was told by one bloke I shouldn't even be logged on if I wasnt ready to meet straight away. All of these people would have named and shamed me as a time waster because that's what their opinion was. Do you really think it's a good idea when you look at it this way?
