This may be a shock to you, but most of Ireland isn't part of the UK any more...
As for Scotland and Wales, I'd imagine that the UK group was created first, and then because it was swamped with English posts, they created new groups for the smaller countries.
The names aren't always 100% accurate - try not to worry about it too much. |

I can kind of see why this gets picked up on.
I think it’s something that is present in so many aspects of life in the UK. Think about sport - you very often hear a player referred to as “The Welshman”, “The Scotswoman” etc.
That’s because England is the dominant part of the the UK in terms of population, economy, influence etc. I guess it’s like England is the “default”, and doesn’t need highlighting, or is synonymous with the whole UK.
Another example would be there’s a BBC Wales and BBC Scotland. Personally, as a Welsh person, I’d quite like it if there was a BBC England, because the national, UK media inevitably focuses on England (that’s understandable I think given that part of the UK’s power).
With Fab, I guess it may be that it’s based in England. There are a lot of anomalies with Fabs categories in the chat, though. |
