block status updates

Hi, just wondered if there's a way of blocking status updates? I've blocked the user but spammy updates still appear (not actual spam just too many updates for my liking!). Perhaps updates should be blocked by default for blocked users? Can't imagine anyone would want to see an update from someone they have blocked... thanks

You don't see updates from people you have blocked.

Double check that they are actually on your block list
