Why does it still look like designed over 20 years ago? what's the reason?

I'd literally support the site with money to make it a bit modern!😅 bc I like this site but my email account is more modern than this!

There are sites that cost a lot more than this with many more up to date features however it's generally acknowledged that what fab offers for free is better. I don't know of anywhere else that people can message each other, post pictures and view full profiles without paying anything. The huge membership paying and not suggests that it's successful

When questions in the forum have asked people whether they like it like this, the majority have said that they do.

I'd prefer it not to be style over substance that Fab delivers. Money would probably be better spent on extending what there is, rather than cosmetic changes, that gives the same but looking differently.

There's also the old adage, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it

The site works as is why spend money to make it look fancy?

"The site works as is why spend money to make it look fancy? "

Because it might comes with easier chat and better navigation on the site.

"The site works as is why spend money to make it look fancy? "

Exactly.

What is the defininition of 'up to date' anyway?

Lots of stupid smilies, for people who are too dim to express themselves in any other way?

Looks good for the next generation maybe? Cuz they were born with smart phone? Do you know how many of them left the site bc it looks like "windows 95" and they never seen anything like this before? The future is them.

Are we so desperate for unknown new members that everything needs to appeal to them?

There are one or minor irritations, which I cannot for the life of me can't understand still exist, but mainly it is perfectly usable.

By the way, despite generally prefering desk top type monitors, I do all my Fab browsing on smartphones as I have got used to the mode and can check the site wherever I am, often in bed!

I don't know how many people have left the site because of how it looks. Do you think it's because they find it too old fashioned or because they don't know how to navigate their way round it due to it's simplicity?

Old fashioned and the chat is ridiculous in 2025 tbh.

Surely the chat can only reflect the users/usage?

Most of the users aren't teenagers who are likely to be the main ones using 2025 lingo.

Personally, I like the simplicity. And as a regular and longstanding user of chat, it does everything I need it to do.

I suspect there's no financial incentive to make it significantly better.

You'd end up with something glossy and inline with other fancy sites out there ...and still the users wouldn't read profiles...still let people down,to name a few valid points ...plus they'd then complain that they get few or no responses let alone meets ....for more cost ...

Just because it's all singing and dancing doesn't exclude the foibles of being human !

If the organisers can't grasp the fact that Politics isn’t the name of a country between Spain and the USA, don't expect changes to happen overnight!

If you hate it that much go find somewhere else.

Yes it can be a bit slow and sluggish but it works. The site is easy to navigate and does what's needed.

If people leave because it's too basic that's their choice.

Fab is about the only site I currently use on the internet, so I have very little insight into how it compares with much else.

They have never implied politics is a country.

Obviously no room for levity here!

The problem is that autism is very mainstream nowadays and my particular brand of autism makes an issue with things like order and categorisation, which is why I have fixated on the irregular location of Fab's politics forum more than several times in the past.

So I won't expect to see any site changes yet awhile,then...

Sorry I didn't realise you were trying to inject some levity. This is where those " stupid smilies" that you don't like would come in handy

Any smiley expert able to point me in the direction of a 'Can't win' variant?

Usually I find that exclamation marks cover my smiley needs!

Doesn't matter cant block distances

People dont read so the site just needs to enforce whats already in place. Designs features wouldnt change the amount of fools frauds and liars on here.

You should be able to delete verifications left and use distance to block those you are not interested in.

You dont need to show verifications and if you block the other person they can't show what you have sent, either way this stops the veri being seen so why do you need to be able to delete it?
