New users, particularly females, get inundated with literally thousands of messages upon joining. An initial joining message explaining how to turn on filters might be helpful. Or a ban on single males messaging them for the first 48 hours (obviously they could message single men). I know a couple of girls who joined Fab at our recommendation, then came off due to the sheer volume of messages on day one.

I agree, when I first joined I had over 50 messages before I'd even put anything on my profile. No writing, no pictures, just a user name and the fact I was female. It was ridiculous.

This is in the right place for admin to see it but of I recommend fab to anybody I always advise them to enable mail filters before they do anything else

Dark side of ths moon

The rules and ways to set filters are already on,and they are clear how-to block various groups of people abd filters for afmges etc.

The onus is rightly on the person joining I see no need for admin having to add something else.

Just seems a waste of time in my humble opinion.

We can all for example not set filters or blocks right at start but that is down to individual to rectify surely.

If you don’t set filters then just Bulk delete until you’re ready to face the shit storm of messages.

And I think if you’re recommending the site to people you should be telling them what to expect.

Females - an absolute shit storm of messages.

Single blokes - what’s the imoge for a tumble blowing past?
