This is something we have to add to profiles so why can’t it be a feature to filter on when searching??

It's especially helpful for those of us who want to search and filter from the largest group of people here - men.

As OP says, users have to enter the details, so it's unhelpful, if you can't search and filter, from this information

When I first joined I put large, yes guess what I know I'm fat. I got messages from men telling me I'm not large I'm curvy. When I changed it to curvy I got told by men that I am lying and I am large/fat/obese pick your own word.

My thoughts then were Fuck it I can't be bothered to try and please men. So I put fabulous. You can see from my pics how I look.

Oddly enough I haven't had anyone try to correct me since I changed it about 6 years ago.

My point is one persons opinion of someone's body is very different to another persons.

It's hard to generalise and match it with another persons thoughts and ideals

.

I can just imagine the men searching for curvy ladies then getting annoyed because there are "fat" women in there. It would just lead to the sort of scrappy messages that I got at the start.

This relies entirely on people veiw if them selves unless you start havibg mods settibg ut its nit goibg to be really work.

Personly i'd class my self as a fat fook, but people have described me as , chunky, stocky, plum, ample and bear like. Everyone has different definitions

"People lie... Wtf is fabulous?? Ya know... "

If we don't have the tools to filter and search for what we want, we'll never know

Some people are happy regardless of body type but many of us are more restrictive. It's particularly tough, wading through the tens of thousands of single men here, rather than looking amongst smaller groups.

We find the description is utterly pointless mostly.

Seen 'average'and 'curvy' who are hot as hell and 'athletics' who's only exercise seems to have been the walk to the chip shop.

Harsh? Maybe, and sorry 😘

Unfortunately a filter only works if people are honest... And, most aren't and some are delusional... Also my idea of fat/athletic/slim etc... Could be very different from someone else's

Somewhere in Norfolk ask :)

I agree this wouldn’t work as some people say I’m curvy, others say fat and others obese.

Someone who’s a size 18 but 5,7 is going to carry it better than someone my height 5,1.

Everyone’s bodies are different some have bigger boobs than their belly, some have a bigger belly than their boobs.

It’s impossible to put it into a category unless you literally put in height and weight and even then that doesn’t take into account muscle mass, a body builder and an obese person can weight the same but look very different.

We just go by peoples photos to ascertain their body type, plus tbf given I’m a large lady I can’t exactly judge.

Face pics are more important

We would potentially benefit from having new descriptive terms as well as guidance for using them.

Seems like a pointless development for the site owners to invest in. People will describe themselves as they want, not as they really are, or as how others perceive them.

Surely better to keep wading through the pictures to better gauge someone's body type?

I’d also agree that a body type filter would be helpful to a LOT of users for a lot of reasons. And while Fab is a great example of those rudimentary websites coded 20+ years ago that might look basic and old, but pretty much never fails, the search feature and meets page are chronically overdue a modern update.

Same with verification process. There’s gotta be a better way to out the fakes and the fantasists. It’s amazing how many accounts I see on the daily, over a year old with no photo veri, no meet veris but EVERY single status is a story about all the fun they’re having. It makes it impossible to find a genuine meet when you’re wasting time and energy chasing a ghosts.

Id also like a height filter... i personally find men 5 6 to 5 10 most attractive, im 5 8 and a quarter.

I guess we’d all like to be able to filter down what or who we’re looking for to make the lists we have more relatable to what we want.

I get that admin will only go so far in the options laid before us but I think the overwhelming consensus is we would like some more choice please 🙏

The site has barely changed in 15 years which in some ways is good as it’s recognisable and feels safe but progress is never easy to implement and I do think it’s about time fab changed … Start with some small tweaks first
