There was Webcam Veris/Photo veris for that. I don't think paying for site supporter gets rid of fakes so to speak.
It has put me off, I liked the social aspect of the chat room. I only came on to use that feature catch up with people I know, didnt use any other feature to warrant site supporter. xx |

i think this is a bad move on the admin/owners part as others have said the chat rooms have been getting quieter and quieter and could well now all but fade away apart from a few people who pay to chat |

One way to make chat more balanced and open would be to create a room where you could only take part if your cam was on. Yes, I get that people could just point their camera at the ceiling, but at least they would have to have a camera in the first place. There’s too many lurkers blocking up the directing rooms these days. |

Been a site member for OVER 20 YEARS (or in other words since the start of this site .... since the change to the NEWER system always had the CHOICE wether to pay site supporters or not ......now that choice has been taken away ....without any cosultation or warning truly does make one feel like the site is ONLY interested in making money....... go on site owners PROVE me wrong !! |

But I really don’t think I would pay.
(Now if word got round that chat rooms were free for all females and cameras were on permanently - just MAYBE that attempt to improve the MF ratio might work?) |

It's weird how some people can use things on this site without being a site supporter, but in the 6 years I've been on here I've had to be a site supporter to use most things, like chat rooms, read messages people have sent. Look at who's looked at me. And to become a site supporter I've always had to be photo verified, I've had a few profiles in the 6 years and it's always been the same for me. I did an experiment with a friend of mine on here, we both made profiles at the same time, she got access to everything and I had to become a site supporter. |

Yeah, being unable to get into the chatrooms unless I become a site supporter isn't a new thing for me either. I don't know when it first started, because I have long periods where I don't use the chat function. |

Sad to admit but it's killed the chatrooms stone dead. It's just the same few faces every day now. Rooms are mostly half empty.
It's such a shame. I can understand the reasoning behind it i.e to cut user abuse etc, but I've had quite a few people message me - good, non-abusive people, chat regulars for years - message me to say that they're not going to pay the fee. Like a say, a real shame. |

Like some others I've been here years, sometimes I pay, sometimes not, depends on how many cams I want to view. I'm not sure if I'll continue as I wonder if the quality of the rooms will drop due to a fall in numbers. |

All of us who pay then subsidise the non payers?
It’s about a fiver a month, less than a pint and it’s discrete payment by card or text etc.

I’ve found the chat rooms laggy recently, appearing to freeze almost, might be because no one was chatting though!
If it means the performance of the chat rooms is improved through a better server or hosting paid for by supporters then I think it’s ok. The cost of the membership provides value for money I think if the site performance Improves. |

I think the problem is that it always has been free, so people who haven't been site supporters for the last couple of decades are begrudging now having to pay. As you said, it's a fiver a month. It's still very reasonable for what you get. |

Why is everyone moaning?
Why do you believe you should be entitled to anything for free?
Its less than £5 a month, it's hardly a big deal and at the end of the day fab is a business not a free service.
Why should they not charge for one the most used areas of the site. Yes you've had it free for years but things change.
If you dont want to pay then don't but stop winging like spoilt little kids. |

I suspect a few may - I cartainly won't be renewing my supporter status when my current ends. Not because of the chatroom - never use it anyway. But more the attitude of some of the freeloaders, having the audacity to say it was the supporters being "selfish" or "entitled". My first thought during this was the site was perhaps making the change to be seen to be tightening up due to the recent media - the freeloaders and their whinging has now completely undermined that. I wonder where Mr "2 tier fabbing" is with his objections now?

People need to chill a little. Chat was always free before, yet people still subscribed so they could view videos, post more content and have all their messages backed up.
I’ve done the subscription thing and didn’t see a huge benefit at this point in my fab journey (other than missing the videos), but I mainly enjoy going on cam.
It’s a shame there aren’t more people getting involved in the chat, maybe there’d be less “watch me please” comments if there were more people on cam, because it might become more normal. |
