Is there a way for important posts from site admin, for example the update on the BBC situation, to be pinned to the top of forums so they are more visible?

If i hadn't read a post responding to the feedback, I wouldn't have known that admin had made such a post.

There is a direct link from the updates page. They tend to do that with admin posts.
