Hello, I'm just wondering if I 'unfriend' someone if they get a notification about it or if they only know when they next go to look at your private pics or their friend list?

no they don't get a notification and would only know if they look at your profile and try to access your private pics

You won't get their annoying statuses showing in you friends section either x

and if you dont want to hear from them, after unfriending, block them too, in fact blocking them deletes from friend list anyway

We have had friend delete us off their list but also had a message asking if we had unfriended them ha ha. So not sure if some get deleted with out any one deleting lol

Also some one on our block list some how wasn't on our block list yesterday so went straight back to blocked lol
