At the moment you set your age filters and that is used by the search function.
Now when you search you can choose to restrict your age range or widen it.
But others searching don't have that flexibility. They might miss you by as little as a year.
Could we have option to have +/- say 5 years when setting your profile & search preferences? |

I already have the absolute minimum and absolute maximum I would meet, set as my filters. So I would want +/- zero. I don't want men outside of my filters to be able to contact me. |

So are you saying that people you are searching for shouldn't really have a set age filter as it needs to have the +/- so that you can message them even though you are not within their age parameters? Can't agree with that and don't see why people should have to just to please you. Some people have a set age but do if they see someone outside it, contact them, maybe you should allow those you are interested in, do the same or better still, concentrate on those whom you can contact |

I'm only going on experience of comments made at socials - folks have commented that they felt they were too old by literally one or two years and didn't want to contact me - but now they have after meeting at socials.
Same is true of others who only serch with the "must match my age preferences". We'd never found each other on FAB had it not been for socials.

And that's one of the things that are good about socials. But socials are far different from having an over-crowded inbox on Fab. Different rules for different methods of contact. |
