Have booked a weekend away to Paris for my wife’s 50th Birthday in September.
Never been before so any suggestions of places to visit or things to do would be appreciated and any really nice restaurants to go to.
Thanks 😊 |

First time---a weekend will seem like two minutes.
Get the small bus from Pigalle to wind upto Sacre Couer and the Artists square. (but ask the driver about the bus stops!)
In Pigalle, look at the Windmill -dont waste the time and cash on the show** instead Google "Sweet Temptations" and see if the idea tempts you---it's a theatre/caberet of its own but difficult to locate-and take a photo of wife atop the nearby metro vent with a Marilyn Monroe snap and the Windmill sails behind her!.
Quick look at Notre Dame, then walk to the tip of the Island and cross the bridge to Isle St Louis to stroll along. its central street. Cross north to the Right bank and enter the Marais area. (Coffee/cakes) Ignore the Eifell Tower.
Restaurants are everywhere.Avoid the ones very close to Tourist spots and check the guides. If budget is truly plentiful (!) check out Le Tour Argent for lunch rather than dinner.
Have a great time, watch out for excellent pickpockets and return soon with more time.
Enjoy,
