Could anyone advise us on the cheapest way of booking an apartment/ hotel in Cap? Is it best to book now, or is it usually quite easy to get a good deal last minute?

We've never done a last minute booking before, but prices seem to be a lot cheaper for say, going this week than for going in two months time

Two months time will be school holidays so everything gets hiked up including flights so if you can avoid peak times you will get a better deal.

Last minute is always difficult in Cap. The better apartments are often booked a year in advance, also cheap and Cap d'Agde very rarely appear in the same sentence.

Quality of accommodation can be an issue as well. There are some fantastic apartments there but there are some pretty poor ones as well and they are usually the ones that get left over.

The better deals will be outside the gate but if you want to really get into the swing (pun intended) of Cap that would present another set of problems.

Try some of the agents, we prefer Peng France http://www.pengfrance.com/ Their apartments are usually good quality and we always get good service, also the staff all speak good English so you can even phone them.

You could also try Naturist De. They have a specific page on their site for last minute bookings. We've used them in the past and although they do have quite a few of the poor quality apartments and sometimes their service leaves a bit to be desired, they are still advertising places for June at as little as 50€ per night.

Last minute in Cap usually means a grotty place - otherwise it would have gone by now. If you want a nice place then start booking from September for next year!

Hi. Luckily you are going so you have plenty of opportunities to test the resort .

Various posters have answered your questions already. If an agent has accommodation free in the peak season I would be suspicious of its standard and in addition how effective their marketing policy is as good quality accommodation would be booked by now. You might however be lucky and pick up a last minute cancellation . Prior to booking ask for photos of apartment and when they were taken. In terms of size some apartments are very small and are only 15 square metres with a fold up bed. For apartments with a separate bed and more spacious accommodation in which you can entertain guests in comfort you will be looking from 28 square metres upwards .

I go for separate weeks in May , June , July , August and September.

Whilst I own an apartment and do not have to worry about rental costs , if you are renting you can have just as good a time off peak , if not better . During July and August the bars will be packed and service may not be great . Whilst May is quiet , I find September and June just as good if not better than July and August .

If we take a simplistic approach and assume that you cannot have sex with everyone there , you will find that the selection pool is more than sufficient in May , June or September and accommodation is a lot cheaper.

The first sentence should read luckily you are young so will have plenty of opportunities to test the resort.

Please note when renting in France you are personally responsible for any damage to the proerty and any other properties which may get damaged. There is no limit, and therefore you should take travel insurance before you come. Boring but better than a 500,000€ bill which an English family received!

We've been going for eight years and have never heard of them. Maybe we just missed it.

Is it an agency?

Is that the name of any agency or did you mean to quote an agent that lets properties for libertine. ? When I googled it , it returned a number of agents prepared to let their properties to libertine .
