Looking at the forecast- at last I’m going to do it. Cycle from Cherbourg to Caen taking in the beaches.

I will thanks. It looks like being hot with a possible storm. Three days on my bike. Ideally Cherbourg down to Caen following the coast, and ferry back from there.

Really! I’ll stick to the coast and take it easy. No real deadline. Take in the sights. Looking at crossings now - I favour Poole to Cherbourg, then Caen - Portsmouth. Quite easy cycling I think?

How are you getting on with that bike ride?

Just returned home thanks. First day and a half were tough as cycling from Cherbourg it was overcast cold and windy. Thursday afternoon the sun came out but still windy. Yesterday was glorious. The tributes to d day heroes are still immense. The photos with name and regiment hung on every lamppost is a great idea. Saw all five beaches and the US cemetery at Collville. Didn’t make it to the German battery at Merville.

St Malo to the Mediterranean is my next plan. Anyone care to join me?
