Do messages disappear if profile is deleted?

Simple question - hopefully.

I've noticed a few message threads have disappeared- does this mean the account has been deleted? Or have I been heavy handed when i tidied up by accident?

I’ve noticed some threads have gone too and the profiles haven’t been deleted.
