How do you permanently delete old messages

There should be a 'delete thread' box in pink under each received message.

Beside each sent message there's a small icon which looks like a padlock tap that and it deletes the sent messages

Even after deleting the thread we still see the old messages when we send a new mail to our friends

This is the way it works now. As soon as you speak to the person again the whole thread comes back. I actually prefer it this way as it helps to see what you've said previously.

Go to sent messages and delete. Deletes everything
