Help with verification for unverified members

Hi, hope someone can help!
So, i had a meet today with a fellow unverified member and we have gone to verify each other after our meet but as im not verified, i cant leave one for them and vice versa.
Are we missing something or what...how are we supposed to verify each other? are we to wait until a verified member meets one of us and leaves us a verification?
