How accurate and up to date are distances, for example, the profile of person i am chatting too says they are 20-30 miles away, however, they tell me they are in SE Asia, i personanally dont believe them, as i have before chatted to someome who has stated they are in Spain on holiday, and the distance on that occaision did show over a 1000 miles away, but as i asked can you tell me how accurate the distance is.

As far as I'm aware two distances usually show on a profile.
One with a house and globe, which is based on the postcode location rgey input which will be the distance in a straight line in miles (as well as an estimated one driving which is usually bigger).
And one with a mobile phone and globe. If they have location data turned off on their phone as well as the 'who's near me' Fab function, then this will be the same distance as the other one above. If they have location data and who's near me switched on, it will be based on current location so could be 1000's of miles away if on holiday.
So they could well be abroad. Or fibbing. 🤷♂️ |
