When using the advanced search section, every so often (not every time) We see an opinion to tick a box to "Use your "Who's Near" location:"
The issue we have is the postcode thats auto populated isnt our postcode... or close to us...
It is, in fact, around 20-30 miles away
We are not even in that area at that time and have not visited that area recently
If we want to use this to find people who are near, wouldn't this give us people who are 20-30 miles away from us
How do we turn this feature off?
How do we change the postcode to our location
This could become an issue if a couple open the search and see a postcode that isnt near to them... they may wonder if the other person was in that location searching for someone when in fact they were never there |

Just to add...
We have the correct postcode under our account settings and when we open the search our postcode shows above the 'distance' option
Our postcode isnt the issue... its the random one that occasionally shows
And it does change sometimes but still around the same 20-30 mile away area |

It's a peculiar one, just occurring occasionally. I assume that you're positioned at the same wrong location, each time it happens. It might be your ISP that's making some changes to its services, as there's some network conglomeration going on. If it occurs again, you could potentially switch from landline to mobile networks/vice versa, such as by using your phone as a WiFi hotspot service, for access from a desktop. If not effective, perhaps try the below idea-
If you delete your FAB cookies, making sure you have your password known before you do, then logging back in,it might reset things. Your profile postcode should work as a default backup, should Fab not get your location details or your profile settings listed as not to reveal your actual location.
Hope this helps |

I don’t have my location services turned on on my phone.
So I just type in a postcode I want to use as my location on here and it uses that.
My actual location is always hidden on every app on my phone. Could do it that way |

Yeah its random, we dont always see the option to search "Use your "Who's Near" location:"
Even when we are at different locations on different IP addresses, we have both seen the same postcode even though we have been 15 miles apart, in different post codes
I assumed it may be my ISP using the nearest "data center" as the location
Ive even turned off WiFi and refreshed and the location didnt change
We dont use the desktop version of the site
I dont even understand the reason for that particular search option when you have the general search option right underneath where you can put in your location to see who is near
If your away from your location why would you want to see who is near to your old location
There is a concern that one part of a couple could see a random location that they have never been too, and accuse the other person of doing something they shouldn't...
Ive deleted cookies and history, let's see what happens
Thank you |

Most of my apps need location turned on, Maps and family trackers to name but two
Its also my partners phone, and again she needs location turned on |

You can not allow fab to use your phone location and just type in a post code you want to use as your location.
You can pick and chose which apps have access to your location (can only speak for iPhone) |

Ive got this issue too, the postcode auto fills and I cant change it. The random one isnt too far away but its annoying. I tried to look for troubleshooting on fab but the steps weren't much help, and my location is accurate on other sites so its not my phone or browser. Meh! |

Android has the same. Plus in web browsers, you can pick which sites have access to it. Though the OPs problem is random and occasional, without their settings being changed. |

When you get the problem, do you retain it, if you log in simultaneously with another browser, such as Opera? |
