How do i stop the site announcing that ive had a new verification? Do I just hide my summary?

I'm not sure you can

It says on updates that you've received one, I don't think you can stop that

But then it's your choice whether or not to display it

Not sure you can, although it would be nice to have the option to turn that feature off under the privacy settings.
