could anyone tell me how we get our photos to appear when replying to things in the forum?

If you goto My Account / Manage photos, theres the option to set any photo as profile pic (avatar) to the right of each photo

This is a bug try re-setting the one you want as your avatar from the manage photos screen should work this time
