How is it that someone can view your profile,notification in looked at me, then 20mins later it's gone from looked at me?

A few reasons- they could have blocked you, you could have blocked them, they went into ninja mode and chose not to show on 'who looked at me' list, or they left the site.

Why does it even matter? They looked but weren't interested enough to leave the message. Why worry?

No they are still on, a couple today messaged me and we were in conversation for the afternoon, but they are not shown to of viewed my profile?

Maybe they just turned it on to let you know they had looked and were interested, then turned it off after you'd chatted?
