All the sent and received messages in a specific thread/conversation with one person disappeared. I don't think i deleted it but if its deleted is there any way to recover it? |

If they had the messages would still be there but would say "user no longer on site" so I don't think that's it |

No it changed ageeees ago that if a person deletes their profile the messages you received from them and sent to them delete too.
Think it was to stop people that would create a profile, send an abusive message to someone then delete their account. |

Yes, if they delete their account all messages go too. They can't be retrieved  |
