As you've likely guessed, it often takes weeks, sometimes months, to get meets off the ground, especially for singles. Get to know people, not just for sexual pleasure, as who you know may work wonders.
Think about where you'd travel to, and let others know this, so they can work out if you're a possible partner. Emphasis on a good profile is important too, as is having some public photos that are good.
