Unfortunately you are correct. It seems like 99% of people adopt a lazy or scatter gun approach. If single guys had the attention a couple or single girl profile has for a week I think they would realise how futile that approach is.

I feel for you. So often under my single guy profile I found that couples I got on most with almost always live hours away.

If the delicious amounts of fun we had last night are anything to go by. With regard to single males in particular I think we are going to stick with chance meetings at clubs rather than trawl through uninteresting emails.
