Hi all, I'm just wondering if there are any other fellow swimmers on here. I took it up about a year ago and have been amazed at the benefits of it.

Seems for a lot of people it may be the only form of exercise that they will be able to get with upcoming lockdown in the North.

Yea I honestly thought it was for lunatics when it was first suggested. I'm just thinking it could help some people get through the next few months. Obviously do your homework and don't just jump in but check it out!

Definitely an improvement in overall mood, better sleep, less fatigue after weight training...... Just generally being more focused on the here and now. I started out doing the cold showers in the morning, just 30 seconds after my normal one. I'd still keep that up on days that I don't swim, I found that actually helped prepare me when getting into the sea as well.

We both sea swim regularly around north down: I would say we will be there a lot more over this lockdown as the mood is already starting to slip

Yea the lack of gym facilities is already giving me anxiety. Hit me up if you're both heading out sometime. I'm at Helens Bay often enough

Inverness

Yes it's fantastic. Even went skinny dipping on the 24th and warmed off in the winter sun out in Connemara. Any swimmers in Galway or Clare?

Might be a little colder than the sunny South East.

Shorts aren't going to make you any warmer.

I'd post a photo but it's full frontal so I can't.

I should have got a back shot.

Go to a local spot at high tide

And ask people who are there

Wet suit and shoes a good idea!
