Legalize prostitution?

Cork

I just heard a very stern radio advert letting us know prostitution is illegal. Those caught paying for sex will be arrested and prosecuted and so on and so on.

My question is should it be legalized in Ireland?

Personally I am in favour of legalising it. It works well in other countries, why not here.

What are your views?

Legalise, decriminalise and regulate.

Depends on the women prostituting themselves like if they have a drug habit or are being pimped then definitely not.. Otherwise As adults we can all make informed decisions.. Legalize and regulate

No worse than what some of the bankers and politicians got away with in this country.

Does it rate as being safer for the women in the countries that it is legal in?

It was legal in Northern Ireland until 2015 with certain restrictions regarding solicitation, procuring and pimping.

It only became illegal after that with the introduction of the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Criminal Justice and Support for Victims) Act.

"What would the Bishop say?! "

He'd probably say "fuck it, it's going to cost me more now that it's taxed"

Legalise it, the main reason that the trafficking & abuse goes on is because it's all done undercover.

Bring it out in the open & let people treat it as any other job & most of the criminals will disappear.

Id say the protestors first ....and then when the protest is over some of them would try and sneak back in
